Come hear Russ Feingold, former U.S. Senator (D-Wisconsin), one of the nation’s leading liberal voices, discuss his new book, While America Sleeps: A Wake-up Call for the Post-9/11 Era. His presentation will be followed by a discussion with New School President Emeritus Bob Kerrey, former U.S. Senator (D-Nebraska). Their dialogue will be followed by a Q&A session with the audience.
Russell Feingold represented Wisconsin in the U.S. Senate for 18 years, serving on the Judiciary, Foreign Relations, Budget, and Intelligence Committees. He led the fight for campaign finance reform in the Senate and championed other efforts to limit the influence of special interests. He was the only senator to vote against the Patriot Act, was the first senator to propose a timetable to exit Iraq, and believes we need a timetable to leave Afghanistan. He has fought against trade agreements like NAFTA, deemed unfair to U.S. workers, and against financial deregulation.
Stay for a reception and book signing.
