A Brief History of Christmas and its Most Hallowed Traditions

Christmas wasn’t always Santa Klaus and elves and kissing under the mistletoe. From Christianity’s earliest days, it struggled to evolve from fringe religion to a faith practiced by one-third of the world’s population. As it expanded and spread to all corners of the globe, it embraced and borrowed from local cultures, gradually evolving into the holiday we know today.

Together, we’ll analyze Christmas, the holiday, and all the traditions that come along with it.

And, because no holiday is complete without dessert, we’re going to make it extra special by making our own egg nog and snacking on, and learning about, buche de noel.

We’re also going to have an ugly Christmas sweater competition–wear one to class and you’ll win a free Brainery class and, of course, bragging rights.
