Wednesday, November 23rd: The Ladies of the 80s Sing-Along

The Ladies of the 80s Sing-Along
Union Hall (702 Union St., Brooklyn)
8pm
$8

In honor of 80’s sensation Kim Wilde’s (“Kids in America”) birthday we’re dedicating an entire Sing-Along to those who made some of the best and most memorable songs of the 80s…the ladies. Beyoncé may think that girls run the world now, but long before she was putting a ring on it the ladies of the 80’s proved that they ran this mother like nobody else.

The hard driving rock of Heart, the power pop of Cyndi Lauper and the GoGos, the punk guitar rock of Joan Jett and Blondie, the dance music of Madonna and Janet Jackson, the terrible and hilarious music video for “Physical” by Olivia Newton John, Bonnie Tyler’s “Total Eclipse of the Heart”…’nuff said.

We’ve got 2 hours of music videos by all of these ladies and more and each one is lovingly subtitled by hand so the entire crowd can sing-along and dance together! No microphones, no requests and no having to wait your turn to sing. On top of all of this awesome we’ll have:

-Best 80’s Outfit Contest
-80’s Dance Off
-A lot of red balloons (Luftballons!),
-Themed drinks including the True Colors, the Egyptian and the Material Girl!
-Prizes include free drinks, tickets to upcoming shows and two pairs of tickets to The Awesome 80’s Prom at Webster Hall (each pair a $110 value)
