The Red Balloon & Pee Wee’s Big Adventure
Vander Ende-Onderdonk House (1820 Flushing Ave., Queens)
7:30 picnic, film starts at sundown
$7 suggested donation
Pssst…do you know about the 17th-century Dutch farmhouse on the corner of Flushing & Onderdonk?
It’s beautiful and has a GIGANTIC backyard–it’s the perfect place to see a “bike-in” movie! 2 (w)heels Collective and Cinebeasts present films under the stars, starting on July 29 with Albert Lamorisse’s The Red Balloon, followed by Pee Wee’s Big Adventure! Join us for both, or top off a breezy bike ride with Tim Burton’s feature debut, as we relive both the awkward agony and the electrifying ecstasy of childhood. The event is B.Y.O.P. (bring your own picnic); food & beverages will also be sold. Suggested donation is $7, and kids get in for free!
Bike right in–we’ll have parking for you. Or take the L to Jefferson and walk 5 mins. Or–if you must–take your car. Street parking is plentiful and free.
ALSO: Cinebeasts is looking for animated short films to show this summer at our next two Wonderdonk screenings: send us links to up to 3 different films that we can see online to firstname.lastname@example.org.
