Wednesday, July 6th: Free Screening of ‘Friday’

Friday
McCarren Park, Brooklyn
Film starts at dusk
Free

Our annual free movie series SummerScreen presented as part of the EPIX Movie Free-For-All series starts tomorrow, and we’re kicking things off with Ice Cube and Chris Tucker’s tale of true, brotherly love, Friday. Come sit with us, enjoy a snack from Pizza Moto, V-Spot, Bark Hot Dogs, or Coolhaus, drink a beer from Six Point, and grab a free bag of Pop Chips and stop by the Red Bull tent for a sample or five.

Before the movie starts at sundown, enjoy a free musical performance from TECLA – a very well-dressed and well-sounding band chosen for us by the geniuses over at Free Williamsburg. There will also be boatloads of raffles and prizes; EPIX will be signing people up to win free iPad 2’s at their tent, and Crossroads Trading will be giving away two $25 gift certificates to spend on their amazing vintage fashions. Find one of our goregeous interns in a sea-foam green L Magazine shirt and give them your name to enter the drawing.

Anyone who shows up with big rollers in their hair will be crowned King of McCarren (regardless of gender) until the next SummerScreen, where the crown will go to anyone who shows up with teased hair and full Alice Cooper makeup.
