Tuesday, June 14th: WordPress for Photographers/Videographers

WordPress for Photographers/Videographers
The B&H Event Space (420 9th Ave., Manhattan)
3-5pm
Free

In WordPress for Photographers/Videographers, experienced blogger Chris Gampat will educate imaging specialists on how they can make the best use of the popular blogging platform to further their business. These days, many photographers have been using blogs and social media to interact with their clients and provide previews/samples of the types and quality of work that they can do for them. However, with heavy competition, the phrase, “if you build it, they will come,” doesn’t hold as much weight anymore. You’ll need to think about key strategies such as the mindset of your clients/readers, what they’ll type into google when searching for similar photographers, the look and feel of your blog, etc.

With years of blogging experience behind him, Chris Gampat will teach you the tactics that he’s learned at major websites such as PCMag.com, PhotographyBay.com, and others.

The presentation will take you from start to finish with the creation of your blog, getting domain names, managing your content, and making your website easier to use for your readers. Chris will continue on to discuss getting indexed in search engines, incorporating the use of Twitter and Facebook marketing, and viewing statistics to see what you’re doing right and how you can improve.

This seminar is designed as a quick crash course for those that have yet to explore blogging as a functional part of their business and for advanced users that want to learn strategies from a professional who built his website with nothing else but a Macbook while sitting on his bed in his pajamas.
