11am-1pm: Hallets Cove Playground: Bike Swap/Safety Instruction/Helmet Fitting & Giveaway

Noon: Parade Registration Begins at Socrates Sculpture Park

Noon-3pm: Socrates Sculpture Park: Bike Decorating Workshops

3pm-3:30pm: Parade along Vernon Boulevard (leaving from Socrates’ Broadway gate)

3pm-6pm: Waterfront Celebration at Queensbridge Park

Socrates Sculpture Park is located at the intersection of Broadway and Vernon Boulevard. Hallets Cove Playground is located at the corner of Vernon Boulevard and 30th Avenue. Queensbridge Park is located under the Queensboro Bridge on Vernon Boulevard at 41st Avenue.

On Saturday, June 11, Socrates Sculpture Park will present the fourth annual LIC Bike Parade in collaboration with Bike New York , Free Style Arts Association, Friends of Queensbridge Park, Green Shores NYC, Materials for the Arts, Partnerships For Parks, Recycle-A-Bicycle, Transportation Alternatives, NYC Dept. of Transportation – Traffic Safety Division and Velo-City. Back by popular demand, this FREE community event will invite children of all ages to explore the creative and functional potential of adaptive reuse, by using recycled materials to repair and decorate their bikes.

Advance registration is not required, but space is limited. Please arrive early! All workshops are free and supplies will be provided. Participants are required to bring their own bicycles.
