Chinese theater was a major tourist attraction in the early 20th century. How did it start? How many genres of Chinese music and performance can one find in NYC? Why do some Chinese immigrants not want to perform in Chinatown? Are performances by Chinese immigrant groups an authentic representation of traditional culture?
