Friday, May 6th: Knit-a-Boob Service Project

Knit-a-Boob
Textile Arts Center (505 Carroll St., Brooklyn)
4 time slots: 9-11am, 10:30am-12:30pm, 2-4pm, 3:30-5:30pm
Free, RSVP required*: rsvp@textileartscenter.com

Along with Oak Knit Studio and the Viacommunity, we will be knitting prosthetic boobs for patients and survivors of breast cancer who have lost their breasts to surgery. The pattern is inspired by Beryl Tsang, a knitter and cancer survivor who started knitting her own prostheses and began Tit Bits.

In addition, the prostheses will be lovingly donated to BreastCancer.org. So, if you know how to knit, or have been itching to learn, this is a great way to take part in a wonderful day of service.

*If you would like to participate, please RSVP with the time slot you would prefer. During each time slot, you will enjoy a half-hour presentation about the project, and the ways these prostheses have helped so many women.
